MACOMB, IL — Emmet – Chalmers Firefighters, along with firefighters across the country, will pay honor to the lives of 82 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2019 and 21 firefighters who died in previous years.
On Sunday, October 4, at 9:00 am CDT, the fallen will be remembered in the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s production of America’s Tribute to Fallen Firefighters. This 45-minute special will be available to watch on www.ecfpd.org (this page) and www.firehero.org.
While the Tribute was developed with Fire Hero Families in mind, everyone is encouraged to watch. We also invite you to take a moment to read the 2020 Roll of Honor, a collection of stories about fire heroes, as submitted by their families, friends and fellow firefighters. In learning more about our fallen heroes, we can begin to grasp the void their loss leaves in the lives of those they have left behind.
