Engine 6 is our reserve pumper and is needed at all fires. This engine provides water to the firefighters operating hose lines or to other pumpers.
The 1000 gallon water tank supplies the initial water to attack the fire. Additional water can be supplied from hydrants or drafted from a water source. The 750gpm front-mount pump moves and provides the water pressure needed. This truck can also pump while being driven, which is handy for fighting brush and grass fires.
This truck also carries a lot of equipment, including: 2 SCBAs, ventilation fan, cribbing, ladders, ABC extinguishers, hand tools, porta tank, and additional hoses and hose appliances.
